Project Description:
“Agnes Martin” is the sixth of this series of abstract, non-figurative drawings and was created in studio in Mountain View, CA. This work furthers the shift in the evolution of the drawings in this series toward tighter, more orderly compositions as I began a deeper study of consciousness and spirituality and sought to absorb and distill complex information in preparation for writing a book. This drawing was inspired by my travels to Taos, where I encountered enormous paintings by Agnes Martin, who sought to emphasize transcendent reality.
